A Stand Out Winter Tire
Introducing the ultimate in ice grip and braking. Michelin’s exclusive Advanced Tread Block with Micropumps ensures optimal contact with the road by extracting and drying the thin layer of water that causes icy roads to be slippery.
Therefore increasing safety, peace of mind and delivering a performance in all other winter conditions like slush, snow and dry ice, that’s nothing short of truly spectacular.
1- Unsurpassed Braking On Ice*
Michelin’s advanced tread block technology is a combination of multiple sipes and micro pumps with a state-of-the-art rubber silica based compound called FleX-Ice™ technology.
This progressive, engineered combination helps deliver optimized tractive grip and exceptional braking on ice.
2- 75% Longer Wearlife & Outstanding Traction Winter After Winter
The Michelin® X-Ice® Xi2™ tire lasts 75% longer than the leading competitor without affecting other performances†.
The depth of the Cross Z Sipes II and the Step Groove design help provide enhanced mobility, particularly in deep snow, winter after winter.
3 - Winter Control With Confidence
A wide tread contact patch generates acceleration and braking power, as well as cornering traction, for outstanding winter manoeuvring.
Supporting knobs help provide stability on wet and dry roads in the winter, helping the X-Ice® Xi2™ tire deliver the best overall winter traction, along with superior ice performance*.
Within their category defined as premium priced Q/R/S/T-rated winter tires, based on internal test results. Exceeding the safe, legal speed limit is neither recommended nor endorsed.

The Advanced Tread Block
The Advanced Tread Block
Intro
OBJECTIVE: Surpass the current grip limits in
winter driving.
SOLUTION: Reinvent the tread block structure by
combining Micro Pumps, 3D sipes and FlexIce
compound optimized for such a structure
RESULT: The increase in grip is spectacular.
On Ice
On icy or snowy surfaces the specially tuned
rubber compound is flexible enough so that
the tread block breaks the film of water
it absorbs and stocks what’s left of the
water in the micro-pumps.
Thus preparing the action of the sipes on a waterless surface
On Dry
On dry roads this new structure keeps enough
firmness so that the tread block structure
allows for less distortion at the point of
contact with the road.
The pressure distribution is more even
and the contact area larger than X-ICE.
Grip is optimum.
